Lola van Rumpt (NL) completed her Bachelor’s degree in Dance at Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts in 2022. During her studies she specialized in contemporary dance and floorwork. In the past she has performed with IID Company, Sally Dansgezelschap Maastricht and Xclusiv Company. She is now active as a freelance dancer and maker, working with Zero Dance Theatre alongside developing her own creative projects. Lola is a remarkable performer and touches everyone she meets. She’s willing to go the extra mile and can effortlessly fill the room with her movements and her open personality.
"I love challenging myself conceptually as well as physically, I like to push boundaries and to leave the audience thinking about what they experienced in more than one way."
As a creator she enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration and working closely with other artists. In her performance Bursting Clouds she worked with composer Baz Laarakkers to encourage the audience to see another side of storm. To change the perspective and to bring us closer to nature again. As a maker she strives to push the limits and explores urgent social themes such as climate change and human behaviour. In her work she paints a recognizable yet confronting picture in which the audience can lose and find themselves simultaneously. Lola van Rumpt was born in 2000 and grew up in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.
